A powerful web based application that helps manage library information Subscription and improve efficiency especially in large institutions such as universities. I-Library is an application that contains three main modules: Media, Users, and Borrowers.

Introduction:

• I-Library was developed with the librarians’ needs in mind. It also gives you the ability to automate every library tasks including circulation, cataloguing, searching the inventory, reporting, and much more!
• I-Library has been working with librarians and technicians from school libraries, public libraries, media management centers and special libraries to help improve access to resources, serials and textbook management. Our staff is experts in the field of library automation, from student searches to MARC records, as well as reports, circulation, client management, item management and many more!
• I-Library is a mature product that is the direct result of librarians’ inputs and suggestions.

Benefits and Uses:

• Clients can choose to have the results screen display the standard ‘List’ style or the new ‘Detail’ display which displays a simple summary of the Items along with book covers, if present, making the interface more appealing and user friendly.
• Additional record details can be seen simply by hovering the mouse cursor over the item.
• Allows for automatic spell checking in the search tool making it quicker for the user to find the resources they are looking for.
• Searches can be performed from any page via the new easy search field which will search all fields of the bibliographic record and return results weighted by relevance to the search terms.
• I-Library can provide the client alternative search suggestions based upon the criteria provided, giving them more search resources to choose from.
• During author searches, i-Library will analyse the author searched on and make suggestions on other authors that have similar subject matter.

Features:

Media module:

• Type, e.g. book, PDF journal, etc, and the ability to add, delete and edit any type of the media you want.
• Topic or subject, sport, history, geography, etc, and the subtopic, while having the ability to add, remove, or edit that topic or subject.
• Author (ability to manage authors, add, edit and delete).
• Publisher country (ability to manage country, add, edit and delete).
• ISBN, Building location (ability to add and edit and delete).
• Shelf number, Call number, News agency (ability to add, edit and delete).
• Publishing date, Media title, Abstract about the media, Edition.
• Upload files (like images, or PDF files).

Users:

• Contain users’ full details.
• His interests and option to recommend.

Borrowing:

• Linking between the media and the users.
• Admin could follow the status of each material borrowed.
• Admin can send email to the user if they are overdue on the return.
